About
us

Bitland Ediciones is an editorial management and design services company with more than 25 years' experience, with offices in Madrid and Cuenca and two imprints of its own: a book publisher and a graphic arts workshop. We coordinate editorial projects in whole or in part, print and digital, for institutions, foundations, companies and authors.

  • 25+years of experience
  • 300+editions a year
  • 18years with Fundación Albéniz

Management

Bitland Ediciones is run by Elena Diez de la Cortina and Cristóbal Cobo, both with long professional careers in publishing.

In 2000 we founded Editorial Manuscritos, a pioneer in publishing e-books in Spanish. We then took on traditional print publishing with bookshop distribution, with more than 300 titles published to date.

In 2008 we began providing editorial services to Fundación Albéniz, a prestigious institution whose organisations include the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía, the Instituto Internacional de Música de Cámara de Madrid, the Encuentro de Música y Academia de Santander and the Concurso Internacional de Piano Paloma O’Shea, and which also organises many concerts for other major national and international companies and foundations, such as Telefónica, RTVE, Fundación BBVA, Goldman Sachs, Samsung and ASISA, among others.

For all of them we have provided a full editorial service, handling the whole process, from the moment the idea is conceived to the delivery of the finished product wherever it is needed. A professional relationship that has now lasted 18 uninterrupted years.

The portfolio includes a small sample of that work, more than 300 editions a year, including institutional reports, catalogues, concert programmes, brochures, posters, corporate reports, books...

Professional team

To carry out our projects we rely on a team of freelance professionals that includes branding experts, designers, layout artists, illustrators, translators, copy-editors, bookbinders, video editors and sound engineers. Our job is to make sure the client does not have to hire and coordinate all those areas separately.

That is why the full itinerary has seven stages in a set order, but you can start at any point in the chain: some clients commission only the copy-editing or only the layout, and others ask us for full management through to delivery. We always adapt to the client's real needs.

Two imprints of our own

As well as providing services to other companies and institutions, Bitland Ediciones has two imprints of its own. Editorial Manuscritos is our publishing house, with a living catalogue of more than 300 titles in distribution. The Graphic Arts Workshop (elena10.com) offers courses and services in printmaking —intaglio—, screen printing, cyanotype and artisan binding, which is what allows us to take on numbered special editions and artist's books.

They are not shop windows: they are proof that we know every side of the trade from the inside, the industrial and the handmade. You can see our work under our imprints.

Where we are

We have an office in Madrid, at Sector Literatos, 42, 28760 Tres Cantos, and our registered office in Cuenca, at C/ Cubillo, 4, 1º, 16140 Villalba de la Sierra (Cuenca). We work with clients all over Spain: the face-to-face part —kick-off meetings, checking proofs on paper and final artwork, press visits— is covered from Madrid, and the rest of the route is carried out remotely.

How we work

We start by listening. We gather the material, assess the proposal, coordinate with the client, help define the concept with suggestions based on what we know works best, and propose a phased production schedule. From there we prepare a detailed quote, and the client has a single point of contact through to final delivery of the finished product.

When you write through the form or call us, you get us. There is no switchboard, and no form left unanswered.
